Bo, full-stack robot systems for public spaces

Autonomous navigation : BotsAndUs initial request

Bo is a service robot designed for customer interaction in dynamic and public spaces.
BotsAndUs commissioned Awabot Intelligence to develop and enhance Bo’s autonomous navigation capabilities from an existing mechanical structure. In a second step, Awabot Intelligence intervened in the implementation of an autonomous docking solution.

Our collaboration with Awabot allowed us to significantly scale up our technical development resources, in the most agile and cost effective way. They were excellent across all areas of technical implementation as well as working closely with our system architect to find the best solution for scaling our deployments.

Working with Awabot was by far the best strategic move we made as a small company looking to accelerate time to market.
  • design, development and implementation of an autonomous navigation stack;
  • tuning and performance assessment of the solution;
  • collision avoidance implementation with obstacle sensors: sourcing of sensors, identification of optimal solutions, tests and developments.
  • autonomous navigation: ROS, Lidar based mapping solution, optimised for large spaces, local and global planner optimisation for the specific robot platform and hardware;
  • autonomous docking: Visual Markers, using computer vision to position and complete docking manoeuvre.
  • support on the improvement of the existing and consolidation;
  • achievement of the prerequisites for cartography and navigation.
